There’s something about standing on a coastal bluff, the wind in your hair, wildflowers bending, waves crashing below. Coastal Ember came from one of those moments. I was walking, watching, soaking in that golden light as the poppies lit up against the cool blues of the sea.

I used only a palette knife, building up thick layers to capture the raw texture of it all, the rugged cliffs, the churn of the ocean, the bright, resilient poppies. It’s a piece full of movement and contrast, softness and strength. For anyone who, like me, feels most at peace where the land meets the sea.
